Rizzoli and Isles

Rizzoli and Isles:
(TNT--Summer Season--Season 1)
This was the first show that as started watching as it premiered, and I am quite happy that I did. Rizzoli and Isles combines both comedy and drama. I find it really fun to watch because it is so new. The characters are still mostly blank canvases, and they have not used up all the original plots. It is new and it is different.
Another think I noticed recently is that despite the fact that I am a hopeless romantic when it comes to the other shows I watch, the is not a single couple I am rooting for. I find this refreshing to because so many of the forensic shows have romantic undertones and this one really does not...at least not yet.
There is also the happy fact that both the leads are female. I mean let's face it, how many shows have more high profile females than high profile males. None of the CSI's, or either of the NCIS's or Bones or Law and Order or Law and Order SVU could boast that, but Rizzoli and Isles can.
Lastly there are the books. Rizzoli and Isles is based off a series of books by Tess Gerritsen. Those books turned out to be the best I've ever read. I have the show to thank for that.
So all in all I think that Rizzoli and Isles is a hit.
